Fewer bears dying in Yellowstone area

(AP) — The number of threatened grizzly bears killed in and around Yellowstone National Park has dropped sharply as officials consider lifting protections for the animals. State and federal wildlife officials were scheduled to meet Wednesday in Bozeman to review the bear's status.

Yellowstone interior roads closing next week

The National Park Service announces that roads will close to vehicle traffic to most of the popular locations in the interior of Yellowstone at 8 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3. All other park roads close for the season to allow staff members to begin preparing the roads for guided snowmobile and snowcoach travel beginning Dec. 15.
