Mail truck burns near San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Some Christmas cards and packages may not make it to their destinations after a U.S. Postal Service tractor-trailer caught fire near San Francisco, burning a lot of mail it was carrying. Postal Service spokesman James Wigdel says officials are still determining the extent of the damage, but a "substantial amount" of mail burned.

Postal Service offers reward in post office arson

RALSTON, Iowa (AP) — The U.S. Postal Service is offering up to $5,000 for information related to an arson fire at a post office in the western Iowa community of Ralston. Firefighters from Ralston and Glidden put out the fire quickly, but it caused extensive damaged inside the building.
