Tuscaloosa police investigate attempted kidnapping

(AP) — Authorities in Tuscaloosa are investigating a second attempted kidnapping of University of Alabama students in a matter of weeks. Sgt. Dale Phillips with the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit said the woman started screaming outside and the man released her and fled on foot. On Oct. 22, a 21-year-old female student escaped an attempted kidnapping.

Study: Alabama has low rate of uninsured kids

(AP) — A new national study says Alabama has the lowest rate in the South for children without health care coverage. A study by the Center for Children and Families at Georgetown University says 4.3 percent of Alabama's children didn't have health coverage in 2013.
