Today’s cold to be followed by spring-like temperatures and rain
Today’s cold weather will be short-lived, with temperatures expected to reach the mid-40s Tuesday ahead of a rainstorm that threatens commutes on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Despite today’s clear, sunny skies, gusty winds will rake the state making temperatures in the upper 30s will feel more like the upper teens, meteorologist Bill Simpson said. Things will warm up Tuesday with temperatures reaching up to 46 degrees as rain arrives in the mid-afternoon east of Interstate 495.
