2 arrested in Phoenix for stealing luxury vehicles

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said Friday that a auto theft task force served a search warrant on a home and found the vehicles in the backyard. Both are being charged with three counts of theft of means of transportation, conducting a chop shop and altering a vehicle identification number.

(AP) — Police in Polson are investigating the theft of an automated teller machine from a bank on U.S. Highway 93. Officers received a tip soon after that led them to a location north of Polson where much of the ATM, minus the money, was found.

Former head of Ga. college foundation pleads guilty to theft

Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens' office says Dawn Cook, who formerly led the West Georgia Technical College Foundation, entered her plea Thursday in Carroll County Superior Court. Prosecutors said Cook used her job to funnel money to herself from both the foundation and the Douglasville-based college.

Valdosta police officer fired, accused of stealing shotgun

(AP) — A Valdosta police officer has been fired and charged with stealing a shotgun that he was supposed to have turned in as evidence. The Valdosta Daily Times reports (http://bit.ly/1LqABr4 ) 24-year-old officer Trey Gandy has been charged with theft by taking, violating his oath of office and tampering with evidence.
