The Future of Power: The Low-Tech Solution To Our High-Energy Problem
On January 24, 2013, CleanTechnica ran an astounding story about a game changing energy technology. This new solar technology, created by V3 Solar, claims to be able to produce power with a “levelized cost of energy” (a tricky term that means the cost of everything that goes into producing power, from fuel costs and capital to government incentives and equipment) of 8 centers per kilowatt-hour. That’s huge. About two-thirds retail costs, three times cheaper than current solar, and inexpensive enough to undercut coal (and possibly natural gas).
