Man charged with cocaine and heroin trafficking

BOSTON (AP) — A Springfield man has been arrested and charged with drug trafficking after law enforcement officers seized more than 10 pounds of pure cocaine and 2,700 bags of heroin from his home. Jason Arias was charged with cocaine trafficking, heroin trafficking and weapons charges.

Police standoff in north Jersey ends with arrest

Authorities say 39-year-old Norwood Hill of New Providence was wanted over the weekend on charges of simple assault and making terroristic threats stemming from a domestic violence complaint. The Union County Emergency Response SWAT Team and Springfield police took Hill into custody.

(AP) — Authorities say the owner of a Springfield convenience store and market has been arrested in connection with the unlawful use of Electronic Benefit Transfer cards and food stamps. Authorities allege Rodriguez swiped customer's EBT cards and entered fraudulent information, indicating they'd purchased groceries eligible under the food stamp program.
