Proposed bill would change W. Pa. Port Authority
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati says the Port Authority of Allegheny County needs to be reformed.
Scarnati, R-Jefferson, says in a statement Friday that he plans to introduce legislation that will give oversight of the transportation system to a mix of state and local officials.
Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald currently appoints all nine board members.
Fitzgerald didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
