Prescott National Forest plans prescribed burn
DEWER-HUMBOLDT, Ariz. (AP) — Prescott National Forest officials are preparing to conduct a prescribed burn on about 2,000 acres in eastern Yavapai County this weekend and early next week.
Preparations are under way Friday to allow the burn to start Saturday. It could continue until Tuesday.
The burn is intended to reduce fuels that have accumulated in the forest.
It's planned in an area approximately eight miles east of Dewey-Humboldt and north of Highway 169.
The burn is subject to favorable weather conditions.
