Man pleads in shooting death of wife before kids

(AP) — An eastern Pennsylvania man accused of having killed his estranged wife in front of their three children has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Police said Htut told officers that he pointed the gun at his wife when she fell and he tried to grab the toddler but the gun went off.

Program to help senior crash victims little known

(AP) — First responders in Pennsylvania say a program launched two years ago to help senior citizens during traffic accidents has failed to gain traction. Several first responders told The Reading Eagle (http://bit.ly/1q6VtKi ) that they knew little about the state's Yellow Dot program, which provides seniors with forms to disclose medications, health conditions and emergency contact numbers.
