Rainy work week forecast for Washington

The snow level is expected as low as 5,000 feet by Wednesday which would leave the first significant snow of the season on the Mount Baker Highway, Washington Pass on the North Cascades Highway, Paradise at Mount Rainier and Hurricane Ridge on the Olympic Peninsula.

Copter delivers Crystal Mountain chairlift towers

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — The Crystal Mountain ski resort at Mount Rainier hired a twin-rotor helicopter to deliver 29 chairlift towers. The installations on Sunday and Monday are part of rebuilding the High Campbell lift that was heavily damaged by an avalanche in March and improving an intermediate slope called Quicksilver. National parks seeking entry fee increase

(AP) — Visiting Mount Rainier and Olympic national parks could be more expensive next year, if proposed fee increases are approved. In a memo obtained by The Denver Post, National Parks Service Director Jon Jarvis said the increases would let parks enhance visitor facilities and services as the Park Service's 2016 centennial celebration approaches.
