Cops: Long Island woman drunk with boy, 2, in car

SHIRLEY, N.Y. (AP) — A Long Island woman is under arrest after police say she drove drunk with her fiancé's 2-year-old son in the backseat. The enhanced charge was put on the books by Leandra's Law, named after an 11-year-old girl killed when a woman drunkenly drove a station wagon full of children into a Manhattan highway wreck.

3 NYPD officers hurt by thrown objects

NEW YORK (AP) — Police say three officers were hurt by objects that appeared to be thrown from a Manhattan rooftop. A spokeswoman says they're being treated Saturday night at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. She says the officers were hit around 10:30 p.m. near Edgecombe Avenue and West 163rd Street.
