FBI: Harris County investigators stole comic books

HOUSTON (AP) — A Harris County grand jury has indicted a county investigator accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in rare comic books while working an embezzlement case. The Houston Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1xSEkHC ) jurors on Tuesday found evidence to charge 41-year-old Dustin Deutsch with felony theft by a public servant and tampering with evidence.

Official: Manatee rescued from Houston-area bay

HOUSTON (AP) — A wayward manatee is receiving medical care in San Antonio after about a dozen people hauled the 1,000-pound animal out of the cooling waters of the Texas coast. A Chambers County sheriff's deputy spotted the 10-foot-long animal on Sunday and a wildlife specialist flew in Monday to coordinate the rescue.
