Haitian man convicted of sex assaults deported

BALTIMORE (AP) — Immigration officials say a Haitian national convicted of two sexual assaults in Salisbury has been deported. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says 53-year-old Joel Monfort was flown to Haiti on Tuesday and turned over the law enforcement there. ICE says in 2001, Monfort was second-degree assault and sex offense in Salisbury and sentenced to a year in jail. Authorities say in 2004, he was convicted of sexually assaulting a patient at a hospital in Salisbury, where he worked as a nursing assistant.
