Enrollment drop leads to budget shortfall at BSC
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A drop in enrollment left Bismarck State College dealing with a $650,000 budget shortfall.
College President Larry Skogen told state lawmakers recently that BSC's fall 2012 enrollment was 4,109 students, a 6.4 percent drop from the previous year. The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/WdnhL6 ) that it was the college's first enrollment decrease since 2005. Skogen says that's understandable given the strong economy in the state.
