Derailment forces South Shore to suspend service
(AP) — Northern Indiana's South Shore commuter rail line has suspended nearly all of its trains following a derailment at the commuter line's Michigan City rail yard.
The commuter line's operator says two trains unaffected by the derailment were expected to depart the East Chicago station and make all scheduled stops for Chicago.
