Democrats both spent $1M on Pittsburgh primary PITTSBURGH (AP) — The top two Democrats each spent more than $1 million on their mayoral primary campaigns — but nominee and presumptive mayor Bill Peduto, got much more for his money. Peduto will face Republican Josh Wander in the general election, but Wander is a decided underdog in a city where Democrats outnumber Republicans more than 2-to-1 and voters haven't elected a Republican mayor since the Great Depression.
