As the murder trial of German fabulist Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter got underway this morning, prosecutors began to lay out their case against the man who for years masqueraded on the East Coast as “Clark Rockefeller,” a relative of the famous industrialist. Prosecutor Habib Balian drew a detailed timeline, alleging that Gerhartsreiter, at the time living as Christopher Chicester, meticulously plotted the death of John Sohus, 27, and his wife, Linda, in 1985 in San Marino.
