Ga. lane closures to be lifted for holiday weekend

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia transportation officials plan to suspend many construction-related lane closures for the upcoming holiday weekend. The Georgia Department of Transportation will suspend the lane closures from noon Friday through 5 a.m. Tuesday on interstates and other major state routes by holiday and tourist attractions.

DeKalb plans election to replace ex-official

ATLANTA (AP) — The DeKalb County Board plans to hold a special election to replace a member who resigned this week and now faces federal charges.
