Game over for Electronic Arts chief executive
It's game over for Electronic Arts (EA) CEO John Riccitiello.
EA announced late Monday that Riccitiello will step down as chief executive and as a member of the board, effective March 30.
"We have mutually agreed that this is the right time for a leadership transition," Larry Probst, executive chairman and acting CEO, said in a statement. Probst will lead the video game publisher while the board conducts a search for a permanent CEO. Probst served as EA's CEO from 1991 to 2007 and has been chairman since 1994. Riccitiello succeeded Probst in 2007.
