Pelfrey rusty in spring debut
Twins starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey was facing major-league hitters during his spring debut Tuesday against the Blue Jays for the first time since April 21, which was his last start for the Mets before having Tommy John surgery. Although, Tuesday wasn't a memorable return for Pelfrey. He was tagged for three runs in the first inning, with two coming on a one-out homer by Adam Lind. Pelfrey made it back out for the second inning, but he was pulled after two outs. He was tagged for three runs on five hits in 1 2/3 innings. He struck out two and didn't issue a walk.
