Culp, Strahan hope to get special call into Hall of Fame
NEW ORLEANS — Nose tackle Curley Culp and defensive end Michael Strahan, both of whom have strong ties to Houston, could be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. Culp, the nose tackle on Bum Phillips’ Luv Ya Blue Oilers, is one of two senior nominees with former Green Bay Packers linebacker Dave Robinson. Strahan, who attended Westbury High School and Texas Southern University before the New York Giants selected him in the second round, set the NFL single-season sack record with 22½ in 2001.
