HPV strains that affect black women differ from those targeted by cancer-preventing vaccines, researchers say

In a study conducted by cancer epidemiologists at Duke University, black women had about half as many infections with HPV 16 and 18 -- the two strains that account for about 70 percent of all cervical cancers in the U.S.
