Zoetis shares rally in trading debut
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Shares of Zoetis Inc. rallied in their trading debut Friday above the IPO price of $26 per share. Shares rose as high as $31.74 and were trading up 18% at $30.77 in the first hour of trade. The animal-health company, which was formerly a unit of drugmaker Pfizer Inc. , priced 86.1 million shares. "With the Zoetis initial public offering, we are creating the largest standalone company fully devoted to animal health medicines and vaccines," said Ian Read, chief executive officer of Pfizer.
