NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Major U.S. stock averages opened higher Wednesday as investors found some encouragement in better-than-expected labor market data ahead of the nonfarm payrolls report Friday and anticipated that Federal Reserve officials will indicate they're sticking to a very accommodative policy.
