For more than 115,000 utility customers, feeling of powerlessness persists

More than 115,000 customers -- mostly served by NStar -- are still without power following the weekend snowstorm that left the South Shore and Cape Cod particularly battered. As of 12:30 p.m., about 93,000 NStar customers had no electricity, and the utility said some would remain that way until Thursday night. National Grid, meanwhile, reported about 23,000 customers without service, but expected to have all of them back online by Tuesday night. At the storm’s peak, more than 420,000 customers went dark.
