Financial stocks rise, as Dow extends rally
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - Financials stock rose on Wednesday after the Dow Jones Industrial Average set a record, breaking through its 2007 high. The Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund , which tracks financial stocks in the S&P 500 , was up 1%. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley were up 1% in early trading. J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. gained 1% and was up more than 13.5% this year. Citigroup Inc. was up 0.8%. Bank of America Corp. climbed 2% in early trading.
