California Supreme Court Employers' liability limited, but workers can win fees to pay lawyers if discrimination and cause lead to firing
The California Supreme Court narrowed liability for employers under state discrimination laws Thursday, saying workers whose dismissals were affected by bias can't collect damages if an employer can show they would have been fired anyway for legitimate reasons.
