A.M. Kitco Metals Roundup: Gold Lower Amid Surge In U.S. Dollar Index

(Kitco News) - Gold prices are moderately lower in early U.S. trading Friday, pressured by a strong rally in the U.S. dollar index late this week. Raw commodity market leader Nymex crude oil futures also fell to a four-month low Friday morning, which is also a bearish “outside market” weight on precious metals. December Comex gold was last down $9.70 at $1,314.10 an ounce. Spot gold was last quoted down $8.90 at $1314.25. December Comex silver last traded up $0.013 at $21.88 an ounce.
